The price per hour for software developers in Vietnam is between $25 to $65 depending on competence and seniority, meaning a quite substantial difference compared to Sweden and other western countries where the price is between $65 to $130. Still you should not only look at the price per hour.
Availability of software developers
In Sweden and Europe there is currently a shortage of software developers and especially senior software developers. However in Vietnam there are still software developers available and especially senior software developers that have worked with western companies and are used to speaking english and western work culture.
New perspectives and energy
In Vietnam a majority or over 88% of the software developers are below 40 years old, with 50% of the software developers in the age between 20 to 30 years old (see Vietnam: The Hotspot for IT Developers). The software developers are young, come with a positive energy from a society on the rise and bring new perspectives.
